The missing half of breakfast · 3 min
Where the fibre went
Most supermarket breakfasts are starch and sugar with the bran sold separately as a supplement. Fruit with skin, oats, beans: still cheaper.
Shop the Breakfast aisleCereal is a dessert
If the box needs a cartoon or a ‘protein’ banner, look at fibre per 100 g. Under 6 g and a pile of sugar is a cookie. Granola is often worse. Plain oats still win.
The easy adds
Beans at lunch, berries, a pear, rye bread with a short list. Fibre is not a powder first. It is a plant you can still recognise. Scan the box when you are unsure — nutrition is half the disc.
